Range of Marks | Grades Obtained | CGPA |
91 to 100 | A1 | 10 |
81 to 90 | A2 | 9 |
71 to 80 | B1 | 8 |
61 to 70 | B2 | 7 |

Calculation of CGPA
Let’s take an example.
Suppose you secured grades in 5 subjects as below:
1 ) Grades = 5
2 ) Grades = 10
3 ) Grades = 7
4 ) Grades = 8
5 ) Grades = 4
Average CGPA = (Sum of all the grade points) / 5
So, Average CGPA = (5+10+7+8+4) / 5 = 6.8
Calculation of Percentage using CGPA
Further, with the help of the Average CGPA we get, calculate the percentage. So, we must use the formula
Percentage = Obtained CGPA * 9.5
So, from the above mathematical calculation,
Percentage = 6.8 * 9.5 = 64.6%
Calculation of CGPA using Percentage
In addition, we can calculate the reverse too. Suppose, you got 80.7% marks. Then, to calculate CGPA, we use the formula
CGPA = (Percentage/9.5)
Suppose, you got 80.7% marks. Then, to calculate CGPA,
CGPA = (80.7/9.5) = 8.4
In this way, using the above method, you can convert CGPA into a percentage.
