We are delivering here a tutorial on ‘How to Calculate Standard Deviation?’. We make sure that this elaborative data will give you satisfactory results. On the other end, get ready to grab this knowledge. Thus, don’t miss this opportunity. Let’s move towards this amazing journey now.

**Methods Used For This Purpose**

There are different methods available for this purpose. So, we are giving here some of them for you.

There is specific process available for this purpose. Thus, follow the data given below to do so.

Here,

σ = Deviation

N = No. of entities available

xi = Individual Values,

μ = Mean of all the values.

Let’s have the values as 1, 3, 4, 7, 8.

First of all, calculate the mean for the values provided. Thus, do the necessary mathematical operation by using the formula below.

Mean (μ) = Sum of all the values / Total number of values

= (1+3+4+7+8) / 5

Mean (μ) = 4.6

After that, moving ahead, you need to calculate the values of (xi – μ) for each value.

Here,

x1 = 1, x2 = 3, x3 = 4, x4 = 7, x5= 8.

So,

x1 – μ = 1 – 4.6 = (-3.6) & Square of (-3.6) = 12.96

x2 – μ = 3 – 4.6 = (-1.6) & Square of (-1.6) = 2.56

x3 – μ = 4 – 4.6 = (-0.6) & Square of (-0.6) = 0.36

x4 – μ = 7 – 4.6 = 2.4 & Square of 2.4 = 5.76

x5 – μ = 8 – 4.6 = 3.4 & Square of 3.4 = 11.56

Thus, the sum of the square values = 12.96 +2.56 + 0.36 + 5.76 + 11.56 = 33.2

Further,

Sum of the square values / N = 33.2 / 5 = 6.64

Thus, putting above values in the formula, you can easily calculate the deviation.

Deviation (σ) = √6.64 = 2577

Thus, you can use this method.

There also the definite process available for this option too. All you need to do is to follow the steps below.

Here,

s = Sample Standard Deviation,

N = No. of entities available,

x bar = Mean,

xi = Individual Values

Let’s have the values as 9, 2, 5, 4, 12, 7

You should calculate the mean first. So, do the operation as the given formula.

Mean (x bar) = Sum of all the values / Total number of values

= (9+2+5+4+12+7) / 6

Mean (x bar) = 6.5

Here,

x1 = 9, x2 = 2, x3 = 5, x4 = 4, x5= 12, x6= 7.

So,

x1 – 6.5 = 9 – 6.5 = 2.5 & the square of 2.5 = 6.25

x2 – 6.5 = 2 – 6.5 = (-4.5) & the square of (-4.5) = 20.25

x3 – 6.5 = 5 – 6.5 = (-1.5) & the square of (-1.5) = 2.25

x4 – 6.5 = 4 – 6.5 = (-2.5) & the square of (-2.5) = 6.25

x5 – 6.5 = 12 – 6.5 = 5.5 & the square of 5.5 = 30.25

x6 – 6.5 = 7 – 6.5 = 0.5 & the square of 0.5 = 0.25

Thus, the sum of the square values = 6.25 + 20.25 + 2.25 + 6.25 + 30.25 + 0.25 = 65.5

Further,

Sum of the square values / (N – 1) = 65.5 / (6-1) = 65.5 / 5 = 13.1

Thus, put the above values in the formula. So, you can easily calculate the deviation.

s = √(13.1) = 3.619

Thus, you can use this method to complete the operation.

In this way, following the above-mentioned methods, you can fulfill the requirements.

]]>CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announces results in CGPA. In addition, it is necessary to know that ‘How to Convert CGPA into the Percentage?’. Some of the students are unaware of the process. We have also covered the article on ‘How to Convert Basic Disk to Dynamic Disk in Windows 10‘. So, for their convenience, we are providing here ‘How to Convert CGPA into the Percentage?’.

You should get proper information about it. Thus, we are giving thorough information here. Readers will satisfy with this data. So, here we go for ‘How to Convert CGPA into the Percentage?’.

Most importantly, first of all, we should know about the grade table. Depending upon this table, your CGPA is decided. And, it is helpful for further process.

Range of Marks | Grades Obtained | CGPA |

91 to 100 | A1 | 10 |

81 to 90 | A2 | 9 |

71 to 80 | B1 | 8 |

61 to 70 | B2 | 7 |

51 to 60 | C1 | 6 |

41 to 50 | C2 | 5 |

33 to 40 | D | 4 |

21 to 32 | E1 | 0 |

00 to 20 | E2 | 0 |

Let’s take an example.

Suppose you secured grades in 5 subjects as below:

1 ) Grades = 5

2 ) Grades = 10

3 ) Grades = 7

4 ) Grades = 8

5 ) Grades = 4

Average CGPA = (Sum of all the grade points) / 5

So, Average CGPA = (5+10+7+8+4) / 5 = 6.8

Further, with the help of the Average CGPA we get, calculate the percentage. So, we must use the formula

So, from the above mathematical calculation,

Percentage = 6.8 * 9.5 = 64.6%

In addition, we can calculate the reverse too. Suppose, you got 80.7% marks. Then, to calculate CGPA, we use the formula

Suppose, you got 80.7% marks. Then, to calculate CGPA,

CGPA = (80.7/9.5) = 8.4

In this way, using above method, you can convert CGPA into the percentage.

]]>Calculating the Percentage is a very essential operation in various aspects nowadays. The percentage calculation is the main & also an integral part of mathematical operations to be performed. ‘How to Calculate the Percentage?’ is a highly demanded query asked for the sake of simplifying mathematical procedures. We are well equipped with the solutions for your queries regarding ‘How to Calculate the Percentage?’.

To define Percentage in a Mathematical way, it’s either the numbers or the ratios which are expressed as fractions of 100.

‘How to Calculate the Percentage for the given numbers and values?’ is the most essential part of performing numerous mathematical operations in day-to-day life. Placing the numbers and values in some definite formula or well-framed structure gives us the required accurate solution. This tutorial is going to satisfy all your queries regarding Percentage Calculation.

- To calculate the Percentage, there is a number of ways available.
- For the sake of simplicity & convenience, we are going to focus on the very basic formula which can be modified with the requirements.

The basic percentage is calculated with help of dividing the number of which you want to find percentage by the total number with which you want to compare.

Ex. Find 10% of 100

Solution:

- This problem is of Find ‘X’ percent of ‘Y’ type
- X% * Y = ?
- X is 10%, Y is 100. Putting these values, the required equation becomes 10% * 100 =?
- Now we’ve to convert 10% to a decimal format by removing the percentage (%) sign and dividing the number by 100. So, it becomes 10/100 = 0.10
- Now substituting 0.10 for 10% in the above equation we modify the equation as 10% * 100 = ? becomes 0.10 * 100 = ?
- Performing the simple mathematical multiplication operation we get, the answer 0.10 * 150 = 15
- Thus, 10% of 100 is 10

Ex. Find What percent of 50 is 10?

Solution:

- This problem is to find what percent of ‘X’ is ‘Y’
- Using the formula: Y/X = ? %
- As per the above formula, X= 50, Y = 10. The modified equation becomes 10/50 = ? %
- Performing the simple mathematical division operation 10/50 = 0.20
- The result we get will always be in decimal form & not in the required percentage form. After multiplying the result by 100 we get the percentage.
- So, converting 0.20 to a percentage: 0.20 * 100 = 20%
- Thus 10 is 20% of 50.

Ex. Find 20 is 40% of what number?

- Here we’ve to use the percentage formula: Y/M% = X
- Y = 20, M = 40. So the equation is 20/40% = X
- Dividing by 100, the percentage gets converted to a decimal.
- 40% into decimal = 40/100 = 0.40
- Putting 0.40 for 40% in the above equation = 20/0.40 = ?
- Performing the simple mathematical division operation 20/0.40 = 50
- Thus 20 is 40% of number 50
